It’s not unusual for a new game to mimic a popular title that came before it, but Agents: Biohunters has decided to mimic three different games at once. The game features the team-based battles and varied characters of Overwatch, the fights against giant creatures seen in Monster Hunter, and the distinctive look and combat style found in Fortnite.
The free-to-play title, which was released by Spanish developer Playstark last week on Steam, has players fighting it out in a world full of mutant wildlife, all of which has been infected by a “bioparticle-like substance.”
The game pits two teams of three agents against each other as they hunt these mutants, upgrading their abilities using the bioparticles that they leave behind. Like most team-based games, each character has different strengths, weaknesses and abilities, so victory will require players to work together
To win the match, teams must hunt down the “mighty Rognar” and destroy three of its weak points.
Agents: Biohunters is in early access, and plenty of players have reported crashes and connection difficulties, so there’s a lot of work that still needs to be done on the game. But the combination of monster hunting and competitive battles may be unique enough to warrant checking this game out.
