Apex Legends Is Holding A Throwback Event For Its First Battle Royale Arena

If you’ve been a long-time Apex Legends fan, the event of a lifetime is coming up for you. Apex Legends originally came out back on February 4, 2019. And now, starting on June 29 and running through July 13, 2021, Apex Legends is going “old school.”

Through these dates, the Genesis Collection Event will be running. To start, the beloved Season 0 Kings Canyon and Season 3 World’s Edge maps will return. You’re going to want to take advantage of these during this time, because they will be gone almost as quickly as they are appearing.

Considering how much has been added to Apex Legends since the beginning, one of the most interesting parts will be bringing all the new content to these older maps. But as we all know, what everyone wants more than anything is the chance to hot-drop back into old-time Skull Town. People were immediately begging for this opportunity right after Arenas was announced, and it turns out that they were listened to. Fans have been granted their dream, as they’ve stated that Skull Town will be added to the Arenas rotation in one-hour increments during the event.

In addition to the locations, Apex Legends is bringing new unlockable cosmetics, including legendary Charge Rifle and EVA-8 weapon skins to this event. This collection will also feature a new set of 24 themed, limited-time cosmetics.

For the Genesis Collection Event, Apex Legends also is including some updates and balances. This will include Legend balance updates, such as the launch pad cooldown increased from 60 seconds to 90 seconds, or the silence duration decreased from 20 seconds to 15 seconds. This also includes weapon balances updates such as increased Hip Fire speed, increased projectile speed, and damage on the Longbow increased from 55 to 60.

You can read the full description of every detail and update included in the upcoming event here.

If you still haven’t grabbed your free badge in celebration of pride month, you can still do so any time during June, so be sure to take advantage.
