Not only is Hideo Kojima in Cyberpunk 2077, but now Cyberpunk 2077 is in Death Stranding, including new hacking abilities and Keanu Reeves’ arm.
Thanks to a crossover deal that at least one side is probably now regretting, Death Stranding is being updated to include a number of references to Cyberpunk 2077.
It’s only the PC version of Death Stranding that will be getting the Cyberpunk items, so you haven’t got to worry about yet another thing not working in the PlayStation 4 version.
Version 1.05 of the PC game will be updated to add a Cyberpunk 2077 themed vehicle, a robotic arm, and the new ability to hack items in the games.
The hacking ability works on sensor poles, trucks, and enemy Odradeks, shorting them out for a few minutes and giving you time to either escape or attack.
You’ve also got the option to use the new ‘Johnny Arm’ item – named after Keanu Reeves’ character Johnny Silverhand – which increases your attack power.
Also included in the crossover are fashion items including Johnny Silverhand’s sunglasses and new holograms including a Trauma Team flying vehicle.
Finally, you’ve got a Cyberpunk themed Reverse Trike vehicle you can ride, which is kind of a double crossover because it looks a lot like Kaneda’s motorcycle from Akira.
Hideo Kojima is already in Cyberpunk 2077 as a cameo character, and a promotional image was released of him riding the Akira bike back in the summer – which is presumably when this crossover was first agreed.
If you don’t own Death Stranding on PC then it is currently 50% off, at £27.49, in the Humble Bundle Sale, which ends today.
