UPDATE: The experimental Trials of Osiris have started in Destiny 2 and Bungie has chosen the Cauldron as the map of choice for this weekend’s encounters.
And according to the first reports being shared by Guardians, the Sola’s Scar Adept Sword is the Flawless loot available in Trials of Osiris until October 26. Other loot news includes:
- Reputation Rank 10: Eye of Sol Kinetic Sniper rifle – or reset – The Messenger Kinetic pulse rifle
- Reputation Rank 16: Igneous Hammer Solar hand cannon – or reset – Sola’s Scar Solar sword
- Flawless: Sola’s Scar Adept Solar Sword
ORIGINAL: The Trials Of Osiris is undergoing another experimental weekend that will primarily affect the Destiny 2 Matchmaking system. According to Bungie, there will be plenty of the usual weekly rewards to unlock, including a Flawless weapon for those who can string together the best scores.
But there will also be changes to how matchmaking works, meaning some might find it harder than usual to come out victorious. The good news is that while things are being mixed up, Guardians will also receive several boosts.
As part of this week’s Trials Freelance Labs event, Trials reputation will be doubled, meaning it will be a good time to try and complete your armour collection or aim for a good roll on any of the weapons that Trials has to offer.
A message from Bungie adds: “Once you’ve completed a full card, even if you’ve lost a game or two, your post-game rewards are increased.
“Enhancement Prisms, Ascendant Shards, and Trials Engrams all have the chance to drop. Whether you want to Focus your engrams and roll a specific reward or just roll the dice , this is the best way to earn Trials loot. Armour drops also have higher chances for better stat rolls.
“This week also introduced a fresh set of Seasonal Challenges, including Trial by Firing Squad. To complete it, win 20 rounds over the course of the weekend and be rewarded with a Reed’s Regret Linear Fusion Rifle, XP, and Bright Dust
“Once you’ve gotten your hands on Reed’s Regret, this also unlocks the ability to focus Trials Engrams for more rolls at Saint-14.”
When it comes to the matchmaking changes, Bungie has revealed that they will be using a matchmaking node specifically for solo players, with no premade fireteams allowed to enter.
While players continue to earn Trials reputation and even go for a Flawless run, this is a separate node that will be located directly above Trials of Osiris in the Director.
Destiny 2: Bungie teases ‘Trials of Osiris’ event
For those willing to test out the new version of Trials, the PvP activity will be back in rotation at 6pm BST.
Map selection and the Osiris rewards will not be known until the event kicks off, and it might take a little time to find out the complete loot list.
It will be Guardians having to do the hard work as Bungie rarely ever provide clues beforehand.
However, this week has seen the development team drop one, confirming that the Trials will be held on a “spooky” map.
Trials now boast a seven-win challenge, which will be available from Saint-14, and provides the Adept Flawless loot.
Reputation gain per match has been scaled by the number of round wins on a ticket, and Trials passages are now account scoped.
Bungie has also confirmed that they have reduced the round time to 90 seconds, with each round starting with fresh special ammo.
Cross-Play must be enabled to participate in Trials of Osiris, which also requires the purchase of the current yearly expansion.
