We might have started the Season of the Splicer with plenty of new content planned for the coming weeks, but that doesn’t mean everything is changing.
Guardians will soon be asking where is Xur and what he is selling this week as part of the normal Destiny 2 rotation.
And with the Vault of Glass scheduled to reopen this weekend, there could be added interest in what gear can be bought for Legendary Shards.
As usual, Guardians will have to wait until the late morning in North America and evening time in the UK to find the Agent of the Nine.
And even then, gamers will have to sweep the various Destiny locations and maps to find out where Xur is.
Recent weeks has seen him hanging out in the Hangar an awful lot, and with a big Raid launching, this could be a nice easy place for Bungie to locate him.
Or they could decide to stick him wherever they like, making it a longer trip for some on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
As mentioned above, the return of Xur will allow gamers to trade Legendary Shards for exotics, but only for a short period.
The Destiny 2 Xur location from May 21 until May 25 will be revealed at 6pm BST, and it won’t take long for Guardians to start hunting the Agent of the Nine down.
All the items will be available until the weekly reset is completed and all rituals are wiped.
Last week, Xur could be found in Nessus at the Watcher’s Grave, situated in the big red tree.
Destiny 2: Bungie teases ‘Trials of Osiris’ event
The Quest will reward you with an exotic Cipher, and last weeks included completing 21 Strikes, or winning the same number of Crucible or Gambit matches.
Every week, Guardians can acquire one Exotic Engram using Legendary Shards that will decrypt as Exotics that aren’t already in your collection.
Bungie has confirmed that at least one change has been made to Xur for Season 14, although it won’t be something you can spot straight away.
It’s been confirmed that when Xur’s inventory includes an Exotic armor piece with a perk effect that depends on the use of a particular ability, that armor piece should more reliably come with a higher stat value in the stat that governs the cooldown of that ability.
And following on from the release of Xur back in the wild will be the relaunch of the Vault of Glass, a raid that hasn’t been seen since Destiny 1.
Bungie has been making a few tweaks to the experience, and the development team has confirmed that things will be kicking off on May 22, around 6pm BST.
