It’s been a bumper week of news for Final Fantasy 7 fans, as Square Enix breaks its silence about the upcoming sequel.
With Final Fantasy 7 expansion Intergrade launching in just a few weeks time, Square Enix hyped the release with a brand new trailer.
In a stream to accompany the new trailer, director Tetsuya Nomura made some comments about Part 2 of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project.

Translated by industry insider Nibel on Twitter, Nomura reportedly said that development of the sequel is going smoothly.
This is good news for fans awaiting the release date, because it sounds like it could launch sooner rather than later.
Perhaps even more exciting is the news that the sequel will have a much different atmosphere than Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 1.
The next part will begin right after the events of Intergrade, as Cloud and the rest of the gang find themselves running in the wilderness.
The original Final Fantasy 7 really opens up after the opening section in Midgar, as players are introduced to the world map.
It’s also a much brighter and vibrant game once you’re away from the dark and dingy Midgar slums.
In other Final Fantasy 7 news, Square Enix and Sony both confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will be a PS5 console exclusive for at least six months.
Speaking of the Intergrade expansion, the new trailer contains some revealing scenes from the new DLC.
In addition to showcasing some of Yuffie’s skills and abilities, fans were given a look at the Fort Condor minigame.
Likewise, we were also given a look at some of the new battle sequences, not to mention storyline teasers for Yuffie’s episode.
Final Fantasy VII Remake: Playstation release brand new trailer
Final Fantasy VII Remake expands upon and reimagines the spectacular world of the original PlayStation game,” reads the official description.
“It covers up through the escape from Midgar and is the first game in the Final Fantasy VII Remake project. Intergrade is a bundle that includes both Remake and FF7R EPISODE INTERmission (the new story content featuring Yuffie).
“In her episode, play as the spirited ninja after she arrives in Midgar. There, she and another Wutaian operative are to rendezvous with Avalanche HQ, infiltrate the Shinra Building, and steal the conglomerate’s most powerful materia.”
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade has a June 10 release date for PlayStation 5.
Fans who pre-order the game ahead of launch can unlock the Cacstar weapon, which Yuffie can wield in her episode.
