The Fortnite map featured in the Two Epic Buddies video is supposedly the result of a bug and is not a first look at the Season 5 map coming later this week.
"By the way for all the english speakers, we never said in the video that it is the new map," reads a Two Epic Buddies tweet sent earlier today.
"It's a bug which changed the textures and it will just give you a good feeling for what it could actually look like in Season 5."
When fans got angry at the fact their own video said "new desert Map" on the video thumbnail picture the iconic leaker responded:
"Well thumbnails are just here to grab attention nowadays. That's how the YouTube community works. The video is delivering the actual information."
The closer we get to Thursday the more likely that some legitimate leaks might happen, but so far we'll have to do with the time travel hints we've been given by Epic Games own official Fortnite Tweets counting down to the games big reveal.
Stay tuned for more.
Fortnite DESERT MAP – REVEALED?
Fortnight Battle Royale's new Desert map has been revealed by Youtube channel TwoEpicBuddies.
The channel seems to have been able to access the new map that's been teased by Epic over the past few weeks and has created a video tour of the new play zone – you can see that in the video below.
The new map has Fortnite looking better than ever, with a yellowish desert flavour to the map. Although certain areas still appear to be untouched from the existing map.
For instance, dropping from the Battle Bus into Anarchy Acres, its obvious the map has almost gone, back in time with older buildings and everything pretty much different to the existing map.
But later on in the video, near Pleasant Park, it looks pretty much as it should. With a bright green football pitch still in the game.
How these two maps will co-exist is anyone's guess.
And whether Epic plans to remove the previous map and have two maps on rotation or let players choose which they want to play, remains to be seen – we'll probably get more information from Epic later this week.
In the meantime, you can see where you'll be playing future Fortnite matches in the video below.
Fortnite is at it again – teasing major changes to the map ahead of the game's changeover from Season 4 to Season 5.
Last season, Epic managed to drop a meteor on the map, obliterating certain areas and changing the mechanics of others and how they work.
This time – after an in-game rocket launch earlier in the month – there has been a crack in the sky over the in-game map, and strange rifts have started appearing all over the game.
These rifts seem to be warping items away and changing the scenery… and it looks like this is all teasing a brand new-look map for Season 5 later this week.
Twitter account @TwoEpicBuddies has teased a new video will be going live today, showing off the new map.
So far, they've shown an overview of the whole map, as well as a screenshot that appears to have been taken inside the new play area. You can see both what we've seen of the map so far in our gallery below.
@TwoEpicBuddies tweeted that the new video is due to go live 'in four hours' back at 9.39am.
That means we can likely get our first proper look at the map at around 2pm today.
Check back to this story and we'll update you as anything else is shown or announced.
It's currently unclear how the account managed to access this content – especially since it isn't supposed to go live in-game until later this week (likely Thursday).
This all comes after last week where another Youtuber got a supposed look at the map, which you can read more about below.
A Youtuber has posted footage recently, claiming to be a look at the new map that will be the result of these events.
Fortnite player and well-known YouTuber posted a clip claiming to show the new map that'll launch with Season 5 on their channel.
The YouTuber claims the video came from a Fortnite player who was timed out of a game and it then “put on a Battle Bus in season 5”.
The new map shows a selection of islands in the game that you'll be able to travel between once each match starts.
Popular locations such as Tilted Towers and Pleasant Park are still present, but have been moved around a little.
During the video the Youtuber says: “I think what’s happened here is this is going to take us back in time to when the map was at a younger stage.”
The map also shows the map with the tide coming in – perhaps a hint of things to come?
Of course, none of this is confirmed or finalised, so take everything you see with a pinch of salt.
You can check out the video in full above. We'll likely see more of the map revealed over the next week.
