Riot Games appeared on stage during Apple’s iPhone 12 event to announce that League of Legends: Wilf Rift will arrive on iPhone devices later this year.
An official release date for League of Legends: Wild Rift was not confirmed. The announcement was made while Apple officially unveiled the iPhone 12, the company’s latest flagship phone. It is likely Wild Rift will launch on iPhone 12, though executive producer Michael Chow and Apple have yet to disclose which devices can run the popular MOBA.
League of Legends: Wild Rift is an abridged version of the traditional League of Legends experience, with a simpler, more streamlined user interface designed for mobile devices. The game is currently available on Android devices via early access.
The headlining announcement of the iPhone event has been the unveiling of the iPhone 12, which includes 5G speeds, the new A14 Bionic chip, and a boxier design reminiscent of the iPad Pro. The company also revealed a smaller version called the iPhone 12 Mini, which contains the same internals as the iPhone 12 in a more compact 5.4-inch form factor.
