Level-5’s New Game Turns Yo-Kai Watch’s Jibanyan Into A Cute Anime Girl

Armored Girls returns to mobile and brings Yo-kai Watch’s Jibanyan with it.

Originally a browser game that launched in 2017, Armored Girls was a spinoff of Little Battlers Experience, an action RPG franchise that first appeared on the PSP and Nintendo 3DS in the early 2010s. Like so many browser games out of Japan, Armored Girls had the player collect various young girls that could transform into armored incarnations (hence the name) to battle mysterious enemies known as “Mimesis.”

And now it’s coming back for mobile.

Armored Girls launches Spring 2020 for both iOS and Android. As before, it’ll be a waifu collector game with plenty of gacha mechanics, microtransactions, and be free-to-play. The actual gameplay genre is still a bit unclear from the trailers, but the focus here will be on the waifu collecting anyway.

Level 5 is also getting a few of their other franchises into Armored Girls, including Jibanyan from Yo-kai Watch and Ami Kawamura from Little Battlers Experience. Both will get armored versions of themselves that pay homage to their original games.

No Western release has been announced, but if you really want to get in on the pre-registration there are ways. You’ll have to read Japanese though.
