European fans looking forward to Resident Evil 3 Remake are going to be met with potential disappointing news as Capcom UK has announced that physical copies of the game may be delayed due to the current Coronavirus situation.
An official statement was published on the company’s UK Twitter account. It clarified that even though the game is planned to release on April 3, 2020, some European markets may experience a delay of various physical goods, including physical copies of the game. Additionally, the company is keeping in close contact with distributors and local retail partners to ensure that physical copies of Resident Evil 3 Remake are available once import conditions allow for that.
For fans who have pre-ordered a physical copy of the game, Capcom UK is suggesting that they contact their respective retailer for additional information and updates. Ultimately, what this means is that physical copies of Resident Evil 3 Remake will turn up later than anticipated. As for those who still wish to pre-order the game, considering a digital version would prove to be more beneficial since a delay is non-existent.
Resident Evil 3 Remake is yet another game to follow a list of other games whose physical copies have been delayed because of Coronavirus. Physical copies of games like Final Fantasy VII Remake, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and more have also been seeing a delay in delivery. Customers who have pre-order copies of those games are pretty much forced to do the same thing as with Resident Evil 3 Remake. In other words, it will take some time for them to get their hands on the games, and that it is best to keep up with all updates in order to stay informed.
As far as future games go, it can be difficult to tell what their respective publishers will do. For example, CD Projekt Red has clarified that the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 game will not be delayed and that fans don’t have to worry too much. However, the upcoming DLC fighters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate may be facing a delay and fans of that game will have to stay in touch with all updates to receive news about the DLC.
