PS Plus May 2020 update: Free PS4 game bonus released for PlayStation Plus

Sony is expected to announce its PS Plus May 2020 free games later this week for PS4. There have yet to be any leaks suggesting what could be included but like last month, these can pop up just before the big announcement. So it wouldn’t be surprising if PlayStation Plus gamers got an early preview in the coming days. For now, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Dirt Rally 2.0 will remain available to download on PlayStation consoles.

Both games will be replaced, but not until the first week of May, meaning that there is plenty of time to claim them.

And PS4 gamers with an active PS Plus subscription also have access to another special reward this week, this time from Ubisoft.

A new free trial for The Division 2 is being offered this week but a PS Plus subscription will be needed to play it.

It should also be noted that there are certain limitations available to those who do download the new trial version.

As the name suggests, The Division 2 Trial is not the full game but it does include all the base content.

The way in which it is limited is through time, with Ubisoft giving gamers the chance to play it for eight hours.

That’s a lot of time and should provide you with enough game time to decide whether it’s worth buying the full game.

Ubisoft confirmed as much earlier this week, telling fans: “Play The Division 2 base game for free for 8 hours by downloading the free trial.

“Start your journey in Washington D.C., in solo or in co-op up to 4 players, reach level 8 and keep your progression if you purchase the game.

“Any progress you’ve made will carry over if you purchase the full game. If you have participated in a Free Weekend previously, any time played in that event will count towards the Free Trial time limit.

“If your character is over the Free Trial level cap (8), they will not be able to play with that character.

“No prerequisites to access the Trial, but please note that on consoles, a PS+/Xbox LIVE Gold subscription is required to access online features.”

If you have already played The Division 2 and decided it isn’t for you, then the wait for the new PS Plus May titles will not be long in coming.

Sony may sometimes change its plans but usually, PlayStation Plus news is saved for the last Wednesday of the month.

This means that we should find out about what new games are being released next month, on Wednesday, April 29th.

Sony has already confirmed that the current games for April will be replaced on Tuesday, May 5 on PS4 and PS4 Pro.
