Capcom’s next Resident Evil game may now be next gen-only claims one source, as rumours about Silent Hill look to August.
The PlayStation 5 reveal event last week proved a lot of long-standing rumours true, with the ones for Resident Evil 8, officially known as Resident Evil Village, getting almost everything right. But one question that’s yet to be answered is which formats it’s on.
Because it was a Sony event the only version that was mentioned was the PlayStation 5, although it was later clarified to also be coming to Xbox Series X and PC. But according to the leaker that had got all the other details correct, it was supposed to be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as well.
It’s common for any major game to be cross-gen for the first year or two after a console’s launch but apparently the technical requirements for Resident Evil Village have already ruled out a current gen version.
