Super Smash Bros Ultimate fans will soon find out when iconic Final Fantasy 7 villain Sephiroth is heading to SSBU during a live stream hosted by Masahiro Sakurai. At 10pm GMT today (Thursday December 17) the Smash Bros boss will take fans on a deep dive tour of what will be included in SSBU DLC 8. It has already been confirmed that Sephiroth will be heading to Smash Bros as part of Fighters Pass 2 in December, we just need to find out the exact date that the One-Winged Angel will be landing in the Nintendo Switch hit.

Sephiroth was revealed as the next Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC character during last week’s The Game Awards event.

Cloud Strife’s arch nemesis will be the eighth DLC fighter for SSBU, and will be the third character included in Fighters Pass 2.

FP2 will be the final DLC season for Super Smash Bros Ultimate and in total features six new characters for the Nintendo Switch smash hit.

The other characters included in Fighters Pass 2 so far are Arms’s Min Min and Minecraft’s Steve, Alex, Zombie and Enderman.

Three more Fighters Pass 2 characters will be arriving by the end of 2021.

Announcing the upcoming live stream for the Smash Bros Sephiroth DLC, the Nintendo UK Twitter posted: “The one-winged angel, Sephiroth from the @FINALFANTASY VII series, joins #SmashBrosUltimate as a DLC fighter later this month! Get an in-depth look at the legendary SOLDIER in an upcoming livestream from director Masahiro Sakurai on 17/12 at 10pm GMT.”

The @NintendoUK Twitter later added: “Tune in at 10:00pm (UK time) on 17/12 for a presentation from #SmashBrosUltimate director Masahiro Sakurai all about the next DLC fighter, Sephiroth, including the release date!”

Smash Bros fans will have to wait and see how long it takes for Sephiroth to arrive in Super Smash Bros Ultimate after today’s live stream.

Last time around it took less than two weeks between the live stream and the release date for the Minecraft Steve SSBU DLC.

Hopefully it won’t take as long for Sephiroth to arrive in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, but we’ll find out soon enough either way.

After the Sephiroth release, all eyes from the Smash community will be on who will feature in the remaining three slots in Fighters Pass 2.

There have been plenty of rumours swirling around new Smash Bros DLC characters, as well as requests from fans for in-demand additions.

Rumoured new arrivals for Smash include Ninja Gaiden’s Ryu Hayabusa, Sora from Kingdom Hearts, Dante from Devil May Cry, Doomguy from Doom and Crash Bandicoot.

While, of course, Geno and Waluigi will continue to be requested by fans in their droves until these hugely in-demand characters get added to Smash.

In total, since Super Smash Bros Ultimate first came out seven DLC character packs have been released – with four (including Sephiroth) arriving in 2020.

These Smash Bros DLC characters are Persona 5’s Joker, Dragon Quest’s Hero, N64 icons Banjo & Kazooie, Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard, Byleth from Fire Emblem Three Houses, Arms’s Min Min and Minecraft’s Steve.
