The Game Awards 2021 news round-up – watch all the trailers and announcements

The biggest preview event of the year is over and there are a lot of new trailers to catch up on, as well as the award winners themselves.

With Covid making E3 even more irrelevant than it had already become, The Game Awards has quickly supplanted it as the single most important day in the gaming calendar.

More new games get announced, or seen in action for the first time, this week than at any other time of the year, although that doesn’t necessarily always mean that the reveals are all that enlightening or surprising.

Compared to previous years (the Xbox Series X/S itself was unveiled at the 2019 event) this was a fairly mediocre show, with lots of smaller and medium-sized announcements but nothing truly seismic.

That’s no doubt partly due to Covid but also the fact that the only major reveal from any of the three console manufacturers was Microsoft’s gameplay demo for Hellblade 2.

There’s still a lot of interesting stuff though and if you want to see who won in terms of the actual awards just click here.
