Bruce Boxleitner, the original actor for Tron, is reunited with his light suit from the film after nearly four decades apart.
Disney+ has a new docuseries on. Called Prop Culture, it follows host Dan Lanigan as he tracks down and talks to some of the original actors that actually used the props in his vast collection. The latest trailer features Tron actor Bruce Boxleitner who played the digital protagonist in the 1982 classic film.
In an exclusive clip with IGN, Boxleitner can hardly believe that he’s been reunited with his old light suit after 38 years. “Oh my God, hello old friend,” he says. “Greetings, program.”
The light suit has certainly seen better days. Originally made of lycra, leather, canvas, and plastic, much of the adhesive holding it together had worn off and bits and pieces were coming apart. Both Lanigan and Boxleitner had to wear plastic gloves in order to hold it.
“It is amazing holding this because working on a Disney movie for a kid like my age group, this is what we grew up on,” Boxleitner commented. “To actually be in a Disney movie was pretty thrilling, I’ve got to say.”
