The Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee revealed the rating for Ubisoft’s Immortals: Fenyx Rising, which appears to be the new name for the delayed Gods & Monsters, which was due out this past February.
In a statement to Kotaku, Ubisoft, headquartered in Montréal, had referred to “the game formerly known as Gods & Monsters” when an older demo was briefly leaked on Stadia. The company promised to update fans towards the “end of summer.” Now, it appears that the game has taken the name of its protagonist, Fenyx.
One of five games slated for release by Ubisoft in April 2021, Fenyx Rising will likely be unveiled at the next Ubisoft Forward event in September. Following the announcement of Gods & Monsters at E3 2019, there has been little news about the game. It is reportedly an open-world title based in Greek mythology that features a quirkier visual style than Ubisoft’s most popular titles, like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
On the Ubisoft page, Gods & Monsters has been described as a storybook adventure about a forgotten hero on a mission to the Isle of the Blessed to save the Greek gods after it has been taken over by dangerous mythological creatures. Players will get a chance to display their “legendary heroism” by facing off against their leader, Typhon, the deadliest monster in Greek mythology.
Full of epic battles and quests, the game allows players to wander freely throughout the fantasy world and use their astonishing abilities against mythological monsters who are among several adversaries. The game promises risky trials, perilous dungeons, and daring feats, while the journey offers its own unique set of rewards and challenges.
“The stories of the gods and their misadventures have existed through generations of storytellers and audiences and have transformed into the myths we still know and love today. With Gods & Monsters, those tales take on a life of their own, to become a reality to be explored like never before,” said Marc-Alexis Côté, senior producer at Ubisoft
The game, which seems to bear a resemblance to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, has received an age-12 rating on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch.
