Xbox Series X Bootup Sound And Screen Possibly Revealed

Microsoft is preparing to show off gameplay demonstrations of Xbox Series X games, including the newly revealed Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, later this week. As part of a teaser for the Inside Xbox episode taking place on May 7, the company showed a short video that could be teasing the startup or boot sequence for the Xbox Series X.

The video is just over 15 seconds and features a unique animation and sound cue that we haven’t seen before. The logo attached simply says “Xbox,” which aligns with Microsoft’s recent suggestions that starting with Series X its branding will be much simpler.

The closed captioning says “New Xbox Sound” and the video description invites you to “Boot up a new episode of Inside Xbox.” All of that suggests this could be the startup sound for the next-generation console.

The Inside Xbox episode will start on Thursday, May 7 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET. Microsoft teased that it’s a first look at gameplay from partners on Xbox Series X, suggesting this will primarily or completely focus on third-party games. Microsoft also announced that it will be hosting monthly streams called Xbox 20/20 throughout the rest of the year. July’s 20/20 event will focus on first-party Xbox Series X games.
