Bungie has launched blog posts over the past week, previewing the three new Stasis classes coming to Destiny 2 in Beyond Light — one each for the Hunter, Titan, and the Warlock. The series of blog posts started with new details on the Warlock Shadebinder, and Thursday’s post previewed the Titan’s Behemoth. On Tuesday, Bungie finished up the series with the Revenant, the new, “ninja” subclass for Hunters.
This final subclass reveal also shows off all three Stasis grenades coming with Beyond Light later this year.
The Hunter’s new super and subclass

In the blog post, Bungie refers to the new Revenant as a “ninja” class. Warlocks use Stasis to instantly freeze and shatter targets and Titans control the environment by building massive structures, but Hunters can slow the environment down to their pace.
The new Hunter Super is called Silence and Squall, and works similarly to the Blade Barrage Super from 2018’s Forsaken expansion. The Hunter leaps into the air and throws the Kama blade (the giant ice pick in the image above). The first Kama sends out a freezing wave wherever it impacts, locking enemies in place.
Like with Blade Barrage, the Hunter throws a second attack — the second Kama — half a second after the first. But this Kama spawns a deadly ice storm where it lands. The winds track enemies down, slowing and damaging them in the process. This two-pronged approach lets Hunters prioritize based on which group of enemies needs damage and which needs removal from play immediately. And there’s nothing stopping Hunters from throwing both Kama in the same location.
Like the other two subclasses, the Hunters also have a melee override ability. Withering Blade is a new Stasis shuriken for Hunters. It bounces between enemies, dealing damage and slowing any enemy it touches. If Hunters can hit two Withering Blades on the same enemy, they’ll freeze. It’s currently unclear if this is a unique reaction with Withering Blade, or if the shuriken will freeze any target slowed by any other effect.
Customization

As in Bungie’s post on Sept. 1, we got a good look at how customization works in Beyond Light. Here’s a quick recap from that post if you missed it:
Players can slot up to two Aspects into their new Stasis tree. These Aspects offer unique effects that augment various aspects of the subclass. For example, one Aspect causes the Warlock Rift to freeze nearby enemies on activation.
But Aspects also have anywhere from one to three slots inside of them. Players can slide Fragments into the Aspect slots, like gems going into a gem socket. Fragments are slightly less powerful Aspects, and add passives like granting Super energy on kills. Fragments can also change player’s stats.
Bungie still didn’t reveal how players will earn these new customization items. But they did show off a few new ones for the Hunter.
Abilities
On the customization tree, we see the Hunter’s usual dodge, jump, melee, and grenade abilities. But, Bungie also previewed two new Aspects and one new Fragment.
Aspects

Shatterdive: Hold dodge mid-air. Activate while midair to quickly descend and shatter nearby targets on impact.
Slow Dodge: Slow nearby enemies whenever you perform a dodge.
Fragments

Whisper of Hedrons: Gain a bonus to weapon damage after freezing a target with Stasis.
We’ll update this story if Bungie shares any more Aspects or Fragments before launch.
Grenades

Being the final Stasis blog post, Bungie previewed all three of the new Stasis grenades as well. Unlike previous Elements, it seems like all three Stasis classes have the same grenade options:
Glacier Grenade: Upon contact with the ground, a wall of Stasis crystals instantly burst from the earth and nearby enemies are frozen inside Stasis crystal. These grenades have multiple uses – from encasing enemies to creating cover. When destroyed the crystals will create AoE burst damage to nearby enemies.
Coldsnap Grenade: Upon impact with the ground or an enemy, this grenade unleashes a wave of Stasis energy that races along the ground in the direction of the closest nearby enemy, freezing them and then searching out the next nearby foe. You can freeze up to three enemies with a single Coldsnap Grenade.
Duskfield Grenade: Duskfield Grenades create powerful Stasis fields that suck enemies into them when forming. Once an enemy is caught inside, they will be slowed and, if unable to make it out in time, frozen in place.
