Sony has brought back the Big in Japan Sale, a huge collection of deals on the PlayStation Store celebrating games developed in Japan that also happen to be quite popular. The Big in Japan Sale also made an appearance early this year, but many of the deals are different this time around. If you’re interested in any of the PS4 deals in this latest sale, you have until May 8 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET to make your choices. The Big in Japan Sale is loaded with well-known franchises, including Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Mega Man, and Persona, so there’s a lot to love here.
Kicking things off with Capcom, Resident Evil 4, 5, and 6 are all discounted to $8 each. If horror isn’t your thing, every Devil May Cry game is steeply discounted. 2019’s Devil May Cry 5: Deluxe Edition is down to $25, but the best deals are on older DMC titles–Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition for $7.49, Devil May Cry HD Collection for $15, and DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition for just $10. Yes, DmC wasn’t developed by Capcom, but it’s still an awesome Devil May Cry game. For some serious value, check out the Mega Man 30th Anniversary Bundle for $40.19, which compiles all 11 mainline Mega Man games and the eight Mega Man X titles.
Capcom isn’t the only major Japanese developer with great deals in this sale. A number of Square Enix titles are discounted to great prices. If Final Fantasy VII Remake has scratched a JPRG itch, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is down to $12.49–an incredible deal for a pair of excellent PS2-era JRPGs. Meanwhile, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is slashed to $25. Going further back, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is 50% off at $10, and Final Fantasy IX is $10.49.
Square Enix’s Dragon Quest XI: Digital Edition of Light is discounted to $30, while Dragon Quest Builders 2, which laces action-RPG combat with Minecraft-style building mechanics, drops to $36. Dragon Quest Builders 2 flew a bit under the radar last year, but you shouldn’t sleep on it at this price.
While mainline Persona games aren’t included in the sale, rhythm fans should certainly look at Persona Dancing: Endless Night Collection for $22. It includes all three Persona Dancing games, including Persona 4: Dancing All Night, which is only available on PS4 as part of this collection.
