Activision sends first Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 teaser to Nickmercs

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are set to jump into Season 5 sometime around August 5. That’s the date that the Season Four Battle Pass concludes, and an update will likely arrive close to when that occurs. This update will contain the Season 5 changes, which will include massive alterations to both games. However, with Warzone specifically, players are especially excited to see what Activision does with the map of Verdansk. While we don’t have any set confirmation, the publishers did send a new teaser to Twitch streamer Nick “Nickmercs” Kolcheff.

Warzone Season 5 teaser video

The teaser video was shown off by Nickmercs on his stream earlier today. Presumably, Activision gave him the go-ahead to showcase the video at a certain time and date, which appears to be today. You can view the full teaser below.

As we can clearly see from the short video, Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 will change up the map significantly. If you didn’t notice, a train horn can be heard in the background. This lines up with previous leaks that a roaming train will be coming to the battle royale.

If you’ve played the Apex Legends World’s Edge map, then you’ll know how the train works. Presumably, the train in Season 5 will roam around the map and could even carry some high-tier loot. Of course, landing or jumping on the train comes with some risks as it should be a hot-bed for other squads.

Aside from the train teaser, however, not much else can be deciphered from the video. Though, it does confirm that August 5 is when the Season 5 update will release for both Modern Warfare and Warzone. At what exact time is still a mystery. Although, in seasons past, the updates arrive in the wee hours of the morning (Eastern Time).

It’s likely that we’ll see more teasers over the coming days and weeks, so stay tuned to Daily Esports for all Call of Duty updates.
