Team Liquid has acquired top laner Barney “Alphari” Morris and jungler Lucas “Santorin” Larsen for its League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) roster. The organization revealed their signings yesterday on Twitter. The two will join the squad for the upcoming 2021 LCS season.
21-year-old Alphari makes his first move to North America, after previously competing in the LEC for Misfits and later Origen. The top laner placed second in two domestic splits, Summer 2017 and Spring 2019. Under the Misfits name, Alphari competed in the 2017 World Championship, reaching the quarter-finals. More recently, the British player finished fourth and tenth in the 2020 LEC Spring and Summer splits, respectively, with Origen.
Santorin joins Team Liquid after a two-year tenure with FlyQuest. The Danish jungler previously played in the LCS for Team SoloMid, winning the 2015 Spring split and placing second in the Summer split. Since rejoining the LCS in 2018, Santorin reached the top four of the 2019 Spring split, and placed second in both the 2020 Spring and Summer splits.
The two will replace Team Liquid top laner Jung “Impact” Eon-yeong, who is reportedly set to join Evil Geniuses, and Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen, who has joined CLG. Team Liquid will return for the 2021 LCS season, which is expected to begin sometime early next year.
