Italian esports-focused media company QLASH and Sky-owned over-the-top internet television service NOW TV announced Monday a partnership to invest and grow the esports industry in Italy. Together, the two are looking to tap into the growing audience numbers popping up in Italy that sees 1.4M gaming and esports enthusiasts nationwide.
The companies will engage in a series of collaborations that will begin with four projects focused on FIFA21, according to an announcement on Monday. Among the projects will be a community tournament hosted by professional players Diego “QLASH Crazy” Campagnani and Fabio “Denuzzo” Denuzzo. During the tournament, QLASH will look to promote its tournament management application and the games will be streamed on Twitch.
Other activations include “an extensive digital campaign aimed at providing relevant and engaging content” as well as announcements to other planned initiatives. NOW TV will also take up residence in the QLASH House, the company’s content gaming house, where the two will create and sometimes stream live content.
Earlier this month, QLASH helped usher AC Milan into esports through a partnership that will see the two partner to field esports teams in titles such as FIFA and Brawl Stars.
