Blizzard Servers appear to be struggling this afternoon with the companies support twitter account telling fans online that they are "currently investigating".
It appears the issues impacting players is related to "an issue affecting our authentication servers, which may result in failed or slow login attempts."
This same message was echoed on the Blizzard Support website, which also confirmed the existence of issues with a message that reads:
"We are aware of an issue affecting our authentication servers, which may result in slow or failed login attempts. We are currently investigating the cause and will provide updates as they are available. Please follow @BlizzardCSEU_EN on Twitter for further updates."
Equally the website Down Detector – which tracks social mentions around certain topics to detect outages across the globe – has also seen a sharp spike of reports.
As it stands, these are only in the hundreds, but there are many thousands more who are experiencing issues but not complaining online.
These issues also appear to be impacting users from across the globe. Not only does Down Detectors live outage map show activity in the UK, Europe and the United States, but the same confirmation of problems has also been tweeted by Blizzard North American Support account, too.
There's also numerous reports of players seeing the same error message: “Blizzard Agent went to sleep. Attempting to wake him up…”
