Activision has sent mysterious boxes to select influencers, which can’t be opened. Are they related to this year’s new Call Of Duty game?
Last month, certain influencers received teaser videos from Activision for the then-upcoming Season 5 for Call Of Duty: Warzone. Now, it appears Activision is pulling the same stunt to advertise another, albeit more mysterious, announcement.
Website charlieINTEL shared an image of the box in question, which looks more like a big, wooden crate and is locked up tight. According to the accompanying letter, it cannot be opened until Monday, 10 August.
To open it, owners will need to send a text to a phone number, where they will then receive the code needed for the lock.
Thanks to the numerous leaks that have occurred, with a Doritos promotion even inadvertently giving away the game’s title, all we’re really waiting for is an official announcement from Activision.
It’s possible it could be another reveal for Warzone but sending mysterious crates to people seems a bit much for an update to an already existing game, especially since Season 5 only began recently.
That said, Warzone does have a secret mid-season event coming up, which is probably also tied to the new game but could potentially be something else. But whatever it is, we don’t have to wait long to find out.
Call Of Duty: Warzone is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
