PS Plus October 2020 free PS4 games: Bad news for fans waiting for PlayStation Plus reveal

PS Plus subscribers are waiting for Sony to reveal the free PS4 games for October 2020.

As part of the PlayStation Plus subscription package, members receive two free PS4 games each month.

Unfortunately, however, the next batch of free PS4 games won’t be unveiled until the very end of September.

Assuming Sony doesn’t make the announcement early, the October 2020 free PS Plus games will be revealed at 4.30pm on September 30.

Sadly, this means subscribers will have to wait until the morning of October 6 for the games to be available to download.

The only upside is that subscribers have a little more time to download September’s excellent PS Plus line-up.

The September 2020 free PlayStation Plus games include Street Fighter 5 and Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (aka PUBG).

“Experience the intensity of head-to-head battle with Street Fighter V!” reads the official description.

“Choose from 16 iconic characters, each with their own personal story and unique training challenges, then battle against friends online or offline with a robust variety of match options.

“Earn Fight Money in Ranked Matches, play for fun in Casual Matches or invite friends into a Battle Lounge and see who comes out on top! PlayStation 4 and PC players can also play against each other thanks to cross-play compatibility!

“This version of Street Fighter V displays the ‘Champion Edition’ title screen and includes Arcade Mode, Team Battle Mode and the online-enabled Extra Battle Mode, where you can earn rewards, XP and Fight Money! Fight Money can be used to purchase additional characters, stages and more!”

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, meanwhile, helped popularise the battle royale genre, where 100 players compete to be the last person standing.

“Land, loot and outwit your opponents to become the last player left standing in a thrilling game experience full of unexpected, adrenaline-pumping moments.”

Speaking of PlayStation Plus, Sony has finally revealed its subscription plans for the PS5.

The PS5 will launch alongside a new PS Plus scheme called PlayStation Plus Collection.

The PlayStation Plus Collection contains some of the biggest and best PS4 games, including The Last of Us Remastered, Ratchet and Clank, Infamous, Uncharted 4, Bloodborne and God of War.

That’s on top of games like Days Gone, Detroit Become Human, Until Dawn, Persona 5, Resident Evil 7, and lots more.

“Enjoy a selection of genre defying PS4 games,” reads the Sony description. “Access the entire collection on your PS5 at launch.”

“Simply download games and start playing.”
