Super Mario 3D All-Stars Has A Day One Update

Super Mario 3D All-Stars is out now on Switch, and there’s a day one update waiting for players who pick it up. The collection’s 1.0.1 patch is now live, but it’s fairly minor, primarily making a small handful of fixes and improvements.

According to the patch notes from Nintendo’s support website, 3D All-Stars’ 1.0.1 update improves the screen display for Super Mario Galaxy’s two-player Co-Star Mode. Beyond that, the patch also makes several unspecified fixes “to improve the overall gameplay experience.” You can read the full patch notes below.

Mario 3D All-Stars is a Switch compilation featuring the plumber’s first three 3D platformers: Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. Each game displays at higher resolution and has some modified controls to suit the Switch hardware. You can read more in our Mario 3D All-Stars review.

Physical copies of Mario 3D All-Stars are available at a variety of retailers, but the collection is a limited release and will only be on sale until March 31, 2021. If you’re looking to pick it up, here’s how you can get it for $10 off on release day.

Mario 3D All-Stars was released as part of Nintendo’s Super Mario 35th anniversary celebration, but there are more games and activities on the way. Super Mario Bros. 35, a battle royale-inspired version of the NES classic, is launching on October 1 for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, while Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury–an expanded Switch port of the Wii U game–is coming early next year.

There will also be a variety of Mario-themed events in other Switch games. Splatoon 2 is hosting a Mario-themed Splatfest in January, while Mario furniture is coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in March. There will also be a 35th anniversary Ninji Speedrun course in Super Mario Maker 2 this November.
