Call of Duty: Warzone could be coming to mobile in the future. A new Activision job posting is looking for a producer to help develop features for a “new mobile FPS in the Call of Duty franchise.” The listing mentions Warzone by name several times.
“Harvest, adapt and deliver the essential features from Warzone console and PC into their best mobile instantiation,” the now-removed job posting read. The listing was originally reported by Charlie Intel. “Improve upon the Warzone formula by proposing and producing mobile-specific additions and changes to features to ensure the best-in-class mobile experience.”
Call of Duty Mobile already has a battle royale mode featured in-game, so this listing could mean Activision is expanding Warzone as a standalone product to other devices. The mobile versions of both Fortnite and PUBG have both been around since 2018, although Fortnite is currently unavailable on iOS devices due to an ongoing lawsuit between Apple and Epic Games.
Activision is actively expanding Call of Duty: Warzone. The battle royale will help connect the in-game worlds of both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War when Treyarch’s new game launches later this year. The publisher is also working to get on top of Warzone’s cheating problem.
