It’s a new month, which means this episode of New Releases is taking an overall look at August. It’s got licensed games like Fast & Furious Crossroads and enhanced re-releases like Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Remastered Edition, and many of the games can be played at no extra cost. Both Tell Me Why and Microsoft Flight Simulator will be available on Game Pass day one, and Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is making its debut on PlayStation Plus.

Fall Guys is like a battle royale plus Ninja Warrior: 60 players compete in a series of obstacle courses and party games to reach the top spot. Games range from keep-away to straight-up platforming challenges, and each of the Fall Guys themselves can be customized with your favorite colors and patterns.

Fast & Furious Crossroads — August 7
Available on: PS4, Xbox One, PC
The next Fast & Furious movie may be delayed, but the video game is drifting in soon. This is an original story set during the saga starring familiar faces like Dom, Letty, and Roman–all of whom are played by their proper movie actors. You can race to take down a crime syndicate solo or with other drivers online.
Microsoft Flight Simulator — August 18
Available on: PC
The classic flight sim is back, letting you take off and land at airports all across the world. You can glide over tons of cities, mountains, forests, deserts, and more, in various weather conditions and through both the day and night. The game will also offer guidance tailored to your level of experience in the cockpit.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Remastered Edition — August 27
Available on: PS4, Switch, iOS, Android
After a delay, this GameCube remaster is just a few weeks away. The re-release has better graphics, new music arrangements, and even some additional dungeons. What’s more, there will be a demo on day one that’ll let you explore three full dungeons with players who own the full game.

Tell My Why: Episode 1 — August 27
Available on: Xbox One, PC
Life Is Strange developer Dontnod is back with another narrative adventure game. It stars twins Alyson and Tyler, dealing with childhood memories as they return home. Tyler, a transgender man, has transitioned prior to the twins’ return home, and the game will explore his childhood and the lead-up to his decision to do so. You’ll have your own decisions to make, too: you choose which of the twins’ memories to embrace, changing the outcome of the story.

August has only just begun, and the new month has plenty more games to come. Next week, New Releases will take a look at two titles getting full releases, as Hyper Scape leaves its beta phase and Risk of Rain 2 leaves early access.
