Fortnite’s annual Halloween event, Fortnitemares, has arrived, bringing with it new challenges that give players additional experience and a few special items. One challenge asks you to become a Shadow, which requires you to die and then come back as an undead creature made of shadows. It’s suitably spooky, and it’s a nice change from the standard battle royale gameplay. Here’s how to become a Shadow.
How Do I Become A Shadow?
Fortnitemares playlists have replaced all standard modes in the game so you won’t be able to hop into a regular battle royale. The Fortnitemares playlists see you automatically become a shadow once you die. You’ll need to die and become a shadow three times in order to complete the challenge.
Shadows roam around the map, killing other players with their special jump, dash, and claw abilities. Shadows only have one additional life and will die if their health bar reaches zero. You can consume shields, health items, ammo, weapons, and building materials to gain health as a shadow.
What Else Is New With Fortnitemares 2020?
More Fortnitemares challenges are set to unlock in three days, and a few of them involve more shadow antics. Here are those challenges:
- Detect players as a Shadow
- Eliminate Shadow Midas
- Eliminate shadows as Player
- Visit Different Witch Shacks
- Consume legendary loot as a Shadow
Shadow Midas is now walking around the Authority again, ready to take revenge on the Marvel event that swept his storyline to the side. You can kill him and take his mythical drum gun, but you won’t finish a challenge until it unlocks in a few days.
What Do I Get For Becoming A Shadow?
You’ll earn 40,000 experience points, which is quite a lot to earn for one challenge. It’ll help with the immense grind needed to finish the Season 4 battle pass.
