10 Video Games Players Can Easily Put 100 Hours Into

With so many amazing games already available, and many more coming out regularly, it’s getting difficult to choose what to play. Some players prefer short games that they can finish quickly, others like to take their time and take on the longest games out there. And then there are those who switch between the two options, depending on the circumstances.

The truth is that a lot of games can be finished under 30-40 hours of time – which will lead to a few days spent playing. However, there are also games that contain enough content to assure a hundred hours of playing – and more than once even more than that!

10 Persona 5 Royal

With five games available to this date, Persona takes a lot of time to finish. Even when the player skips the previous games and goes straight for Persona 5 Royal that added a lot of new content – from gameplay changes to music, and the list goes on. The main storyline takes ‘only’ about 60 to 70 hours to finish. But if the players decide to do side quests or to go exploring, the time spent playing the game can easily climb to 110 hours.

9 Forza Motorsport 5

Racing games aren’t usually extremely long but as with every category, there’s also an exception for this one. And that’s Forza Motorsport 5. It’s true that the main campaign takes about 50 hours to finish. However, if the player decides to try out everything the game has to offer, this number quickly rises to 180+ hours.

8 The Xenoblade Chronicles Series

Those players who would presume that each game series has only one exceptionally long game… will be surprised. The Xenoblade Chronicles series, more specifically Xenoblade Chronicles X and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 can offer even more hours spent playing. The second game can take up to 116 hours with all extras, and Xenoblade Chronicles X stands close to it with 112 hours.

7 Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Assassin’s Creed is one of the most successful game franchises of all time. And just like most of the previous parts, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which takes place in ancient Greece, was well accepted by the fans.

Those playing the game then were in for a long run since it supposedly takes up to 125 hours to finish the game if one does all the available content.

6 Monster Hunter Freedom Unite

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite isn’t the only game about hunting monsters that made it among the longest games on this list. Its basis is, interestingly, fairly simple. Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is a role-playing game that’s primarily – unsurprisingly – about hunting various monsters. The game takes long to finish not only because of the sheer number of monsters but also because it requires the player to travel a lot. All in all, just the main campaign lasts about 130+ hours.

5 The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – often simply known as Skyrim – is one of the most popular RPG games out there. This game has many traits that made it interesting for the players – from amazing graphics to dragons. What’s more, its world is rich and diverse, offering plenty of opportunities to explore, look around, and discover its secret. The main story takes approximately 36 hours to finish but with all the extras included, the players are in for 100+ hours of experience.

4 Dragon Age: Inquisition

Speaking of RPGs, there’s also Dragon Age: Inquisition that shares some significant traits with Skyrim. Open world, graphics worth delighting at, and, of course – dragons! Both games also take quite some time to finish.

The main story of this game will bring the players 20 to 40 hours of fun. But if they decide to complete everything, they can spend between 150 and 200 hours doing so.

3 The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

It’d be difficult to find a pattern between the longest games, story-wise – but what’s interesting is that many of them belong to the fantasy genre. Fantasy gives the opportunity to explore unknown new worlds that work with long of things not available in everyday reality – and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is no exception. The main story takes 60 hours to conquer, give or take, but all the extra content and finishing every quest brings it over 100 hours.

2 The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the longest games out there. The main story takes about 25 to 50 hours. However, that’s just Geralt searching for Ciri. He also has the opportunity to take on plenty of side quests that will allow him to make more money, fight monsters, and get to a higher level. And no-one should forget the two DLCs as well – one taking place in Oxenfurt, the other one in Toussaint. All of the side quests and expansions can add as much as 100 to 150 hours to the main game.

1 The Sims Series

The final game mentione differs from the rest. Most notably, it doesn’t have an established storyline that the players would follow, no main quests or side quests. Instead, in this real-life simulator (spiced with supernatural elements), the players create their families and then play with them. There are also many mods available to make the game even more interesting so if the player has multiple families to play with, they can very well spend over 100 hours on the game – regardless which part it is, from The Sims 1 to the latest The Sims 4.
