The Call of Duty Vanguard release date is just over a week away.
The Activision first-person shooter has a November 5 release date on PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
Needless to say, a game this size is going to take up lots of space on your hard drive, which is why it’s a good idea to pre-load.
Available to pre-order customers, pre-loading lets you download and install the game before launch. This means you can jump into the action the moment the game goes live.
If you’ve pre-ordered the game and want to get a jump on the competition, then the PS4 and PS5 pre-load begins at midnight on October 29.
Over on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, pre-loading will be available from 5am BST UK time.
Activision explains more: “If you purchased a digital version of the game but it does not download during the preload period, visit your platform’s first-party store and follow the prompts to begin the download.
“Ensure your console is updated to the latest firmware before attempting to preload the game.”
Unfortunately for PC users, Activision is yet to announce the pre-load time and file size. Expect an update in the coming days.
In addition to pre-load times, the Call of Duty Vanguard publisher has confirmed file sizes for all console platforms.
The good news is that brand new “on-demand texture streaming tech” means that Vanguard’s install size is much lower than previous releases.
On PlayStation 5, Vanguard weighs in at 64.13 GB, although users will need 89.84 GB of available hard drive space. The PlayStation 4 file size is actually slightly lower at 54.65 GB, although it needs 93.12 GB of required space.
Over on Xbox Series X and Series S, Vanguard is a 61 GB download, while the Xbox One weighs in at 56.6 GB.

As a reminder, Vanguard pre-orders unlock the Task Force One leader Arthur Kingsley and the “Night Raid” Mastercraft SMG for immediate use in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone.
Activision continues: “You’ll also get the Frontline Weapons Pack, including one seven-attachment and one eight-attachment SMG Weapon Blueprint for Vanguard.
“Finally, get the Ghost of War Ultra Skin for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone for free by pre-ordering any digital version of Vanguard through November 2.”
