A new first party Nintendo game has been leaked online as speculation grows that another Nintendo Direct may be imminent.
Nintendo has joined the embarrassed ranks of publishers that have managed to leak their own game, after the US Nintendo site was caught listing something called Kirby Fighters 2.
It’s presumably a follow-up to a mini-game from 3DS compilation Kirby: Triple Deluxe, with the original being a sort of ultra-simplified clone of Super Smash Bros., that was later released as a standalone game.
It’s listed for $19.99 (£15) so obviously isn’t intended to be a major release but instead something to plug the gaps in Nintendo’s barren Christmas release schedules.
‘Familiar friends and foes like Bandana Waddle Dee and King Dedede also make an appearance as playable characters in the Kirby Fighters 2 game, available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch system.’
It’d take the work of a committed Nintendo fan to get excited about any of that but what’s perhaps more interesting is when Nintendo intends to announce the game.
It doesn’t seem like it would justify a Nintendo Direct, even a Mini, on its own so does that mean one with other games is imminent?
As with anything Nintendo it’s hard to say, but the chances of there being any bigger name secrets waiting to be revealed seems increasingly remote.
